Admission Requirements
To ensure a fair and inclusive admissions process, Speeddas College has established clear eligibility criteria for our three-year programs. Below are the general requirements for admission to the Pharmacy Technicians, Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW), and Medical Laboratory Technician (National Diploma) programs.
General Admission Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., WASSCE, NECO, or GCE) with a minimum of five credits, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (or another science subject for CHEW).
- Applicants awaiting results may apply but must provide final results before enrollment.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old by the start of the academic year.
- All applicants are required to take and pass the Speeddas College Entrance Examination, which assesses aptitude in science, critical thinking, and general knowledge.
- Applicants must provide proof of good health (via a medical certificate) and a letter of good conduct from a recognized authority (e.g., school principal or community leader).
Program-Specific Requirements
Pharmacy Technicians
- Strong performance in Chemistry and Biology is preferred
- An interest in pharmacology and patient care is an advantage.
Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW)
- A background in Biology or Health Science is recommended.
- Demonstrated interest in community service or public health is a plus.
Medical Laboratory Technician (National Diploma):
- Strong grades in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics are essential.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques or prior science coursework is beneficial
Additional Requirements for Transfer Students
